Kevin Gichuki – Bird Guide & Naturalist

Kevin Gichuki was born and raised in Nairobi, a city remarkable for its proximity to a national park and for harboring more than 500 bird species. His passion for birds began at an early age and grew steadily, eventually leading him to pursue a diploma in tour guiding and to join Nature Kenya (formerly the East Africa Natural History Society).

Through Nature Kenya, Kevin deepened his knowledge of birds and gained practical field skills. He completed the Fundamentals of Ornithology Course organized by the National Museums of Kenya (Ornithology Department), Nature Kenya, and the Tropical Biology Association (TBA). His involvement in bird research projects across Kenya has taken him into a wide variety of habitats, and today Kevin has recorded more than 800 bird species in East Africa.
