Nicholas hails from the mountainous region surrounding Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in southwestern Uganda. From an early age, he encountered Eastern Mountain Gorillas, which occasionally strayed into his family’s banana plantations — an experience that sparked his lifelong passion for conservation and birding.
After high school, Nicholas pursued a Tour Guiding course, where he was mentored by some of Uganda’s most renowned bird guides, including Herbert Byaruhanga. Under their guidance, he honed his skills, deepened his understanding of Uganda’s extraordinary biodiversity, and developed a keen eye and ear for the country’s diverse birdlife.
Today, Nicholas is a dedicated birding and nature guide, sharing his passion and insights with visitors from around the world. His calm demeanor, sharp identification skills, and deep respect for nature have made him both a respected guide and an inspiration to aspiring conservationists.
